Fall 2024 Virtual Orientation

Date & Time: Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. (EST)
Location: Zoom
Event Description: After a welcome message from the Graduate School Dean, hear all about services offered by the Thomas L. Reynolds Center for Graduate Life and Learning and other campus support. Then from 5:00-6:00, you can hop between convenient breakout sessions to get all your questions answered. Breakout rooms will include:

  • International Student Questions
  • Funding Questions
  • Early Entry, Transfer, & Other Academic Questions
  • Distance Education Questions
  • All the Questions You’re Afraid to Ask
  • Graduate Life, Government, and Student Organizations

Location: Hauser Alumni Pavilion (The Hauser Alumni Pavilion is located on UNC Charlotte’s campus at the corner of Cameron Boulevard and Craver Road, down the hill from the Student Union.)
Event Description: The perfect introduction for newcomers and a fantastic opportunity for everyone to explore the wealth of resources available around campus! Come meet new grad students from every department, as well as grad school staff and other campus partners, who are here to support you. Plus there will be food, drinks, lawn games, free giveaways, and music! All new grad students are welcome (including part-time and distance education). Rain or shine!

New Doctoral Student Orientation

Date & Time: Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. (EST)
Location: Harris Alumni Center at Johnson Glen
Event Description: All doctoral students are highly encouraged to join our in-person orientation. The doctoral journey involves unique challenges that undergraduate or even master’s students don’t typically encounter. Therefore, we’ve chosen the morning’s topics with your success in mind, plus we’ve made sure you’ll get opportunities to meet other incoming students. You can view the tentative schedule.
